The Coronavirus Chronicles: Sarah Moras

Sarah Moras was one of many fighters left without a fight booking after UFC 249 was officially postponed. It is not only a let down for her as a competitor, who put in a whole lot of work for her matchup on April 18 against Sijara Eubanks, but also as a prize fighter expecting to make some money.

“This is going to be pretty rough,” Moras told Sherdog with a laugh. “Hopefully UFC compensates us for some part of it, because I’m mainly living in the U.S. [and] I’m here on work visa through the UFC. So, I can’t really work another job here. I might need to start selling stuff. I think they’ll compensate us financially. I wouldn’t have gotten paid to fight yet [anyway], so I wouldn’t expect to get that money until after [April 18]. I’m going to try not to stress about it too much, until it would be like the typical payday from then, and then I’ll be on everyone’s ass.”

In her discussion with the site, Moras also talked about trying to train and cut weight during a pandemic that has forced the closures of gyms around the country.
