Brent Primus Expresses Disappointment at not Getting a Top-5 Opponent at Bellator 282

Former Bellator MMA lightweight champion Brent Primus is willing to do whatever it takes to get another shot at the divisional championship, even if it means accepting to face opponents ranked below him. At Bellator 268 last October, Primus (11-2, 9-2 Bellator) upended former Ultimate Fighting Championship 155-pound titleholder Benson Henderson on all scorecards. In the post-fight interview, Primus was vocal about getting a shot at the title, and it appeared for a while that Bellator would grant his wish. Primus even started his training camp to prepare for a five-round war with current titleholder Patricky Freire, and was very surprised when he heard that the champion would be taking on Sidney Outlaw instead. To stay active, Primus agreed to face No. 8 ranked Alexander Shabliy even though he had asked for a top-five opponent.
