JORGE MEDINA FULFILLS HIS LIFELONG DREAM OF BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL FIGHTER ON JUNE 21

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Growing up, Medina had always wanted to fight. In grade school, he thought fighters were super heroes. He even made it to the Junior Olympics in Tae Kwon Do. You can say that MMA is more than just a sport Medina.

He started training after an extensive run with the police and jail time. When he got out, he found Shawn Hammonds and Lance Patrick at Nashville MMA and he started fulfilling his lifelong dream. Now, on June 21, he will be taking on Michael Richards and officially become a professional MMA fighter.

“I’m grateful to V3 for giving me this opportunity. It’s a dream come true to be making my pro debut. Five years worth of putting in work at NMMA and working any job to train. I have sacrificed a lot; Family and friends, girls, parties… And now all of it is finally paying off,” stated Medina.

Medina was undefeated as an amateur and some may remember his fight on V3 in Nashville, where it only took him seconds to submit a very dangerous fighter in Adam Nash.

However, Medina knows that it is a totally different ballgame in the professional ranks and knows what awaits him when he takes on Michael Richards who already has a few professional fights under his belt. When asked about this fight, here is what Medina had to say:

“Michael Richards has more experience as a pro fighter (2-2). He’s used to fighting at 145. But I think it’s going to be a good fight. The advantage I have is I’m not just tough physically, but mentally as well. Between how I was raised, all that time I spent in Cobb County (GA) jail, four years in the USMC, and training at NMMA…Well let’s just say I’m no walk in the park. None of us want to lose and I’m not planning on getting served up. I’m humble and poor, thankful for everything. I can’t afford to lose or get tossed or beat up. But this is all a dream come true. Anything in life is possible. Anything! Just hold on tight and never let go of that dream.”
