By The Numbers: UFC on ESPN 51 Pre-Fight Edition


Kill Cliff Fight Club’s Vicente Luque will return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship stage for the first time in more than a year when he takes on Rafael dos Anjos in the UFC on ESPN 51 headliner this Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the venerable Cub Swanson tackles Hakeem Dawodu in the three-round featherweight co-main event at 145 pounds.

As UFC on ESPN 51 “Luque vs. Dos Anjos” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the card bring to the table:

400,000: Dollars in post-fight bonuses banked by Luque across his 19 appearances in the UFC. He has been awarded “Performance of the Night” on four occasions and “Fight of the Night” on four others.

1,716: Significant strikes landed by dos Anjos as a member of the UFC roster, placing him sixth on the promotion’s all-time list. Only Max Holloway (3,122), Angela Hill (1,820), Frankie Edgar (1,801), Joanna Jedrzejczyk (1,754) and Donald Cerrone (1,748) have been credited with more.

39: Years of age for Swanson. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born on Nov. 2, 1983 in Palm Springs, California.

7: Dawodu wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 54% of his career total (13). His complete list of victims: Yoshinori Horie, Marat Magomedov, Chuka Willis, Tristan Johnson, Mike Malott, Jake Macdonald and Behrang Yousefi. Dawodu owns six other wins by decision (46%).

2: Sub-minute stoppages on the Khalil Rountree resume. He punched out Blake Troop in 39 seconds at a Resurrection Fighting Alliance show on Dec. 5, 2015 and cut down Daniel Jolly with a knee at UFC Fight Night 104 on Feb. 4, 2017. Rountree collides with Chris Daukaus in a three-round light heavyweight showcase.

10: Consecutive calendar years in which Daukaus has fought at least once. He went 1-0 in 2013, 0-1 in 2014, 1-1 in 2015, 1-0 in 2016, 2-0 in 2017, 2-0 in 2018, 1-1 in 2019, 2-0 in 2020, 2-1 in 2021 and 0-2 in 2022.

21: Years of age for Iasmin Lucindo. The youngest fighter on the card, she was born on Jan. 8, 2002 in Fortaleza, Brazil. Lucindo faces Polyana Viana in a three-round women’s strawweight attraction.

8: Viana victories by submission, accounting for 62% of her career total (13). Her methods of choice: six armbars and two rear-naked chokes. Viana holds five other victories by knockout or technical knockout (38%).

169: Total strikes by which A.J. Dobson has been outlanded during his two UFC assignments, both of them losses. Jacob Malkoun and Armen Petrosyan combined to eclipse him by a 301-132 margin. Dobson toes the line against Tafon Nchukwi in a three-round middleweight feature.

4: Organizations for which Nchukwi has plied his mixed martial arts trade. In addition to his 2-3 mark in the UFC, he has gone 2-0 in Cage Fury Fighting Championships, 1-0 in Dana White’s Contender Series and 1-0 in Shogun Fights.

86: Seconds needed for Josh Fremd to wipe out Lamar Gosey with a knee under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner on Aug. 28, 2020. Nearly three years later, it remains his fastest finish to date. Fremd locks horns with Jamie Pickett in a three-round middleweight battle.

43: Rounds completed by Pickett as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on seven different occasions and carries a 4-3 record in those bouts.

.717: Cumulative winning percentage between the 26 fighters booked to compete at the event. They sport a combined record of 309-121-3. Dos Anjos has the most wins (32) and losses (14) of anyone on the card.
