Aung La N Sang and Leandro Ataides have their sights set on rematches with current two-division One Championship titleholder Reinier de Ridder. First, they must deal with each other.

Sang will meet Ataides in the One Championship “Battleground” main event on July 30 at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Neither man can afford a misstep. Sang enters the cage on a two-fight losing streak. “The Burmese Python” last appeared at One on TNT 4, where he surrendered his light heavyweight championship in a five-round decision loss to de Ridder on April 28. Ataides, meanwhile, has rattled off three wins across his past four outings. He last competed at One Championship “Warrior’s Code” on Feb. 7, 2020, when he wound up on the wrong side of the scorecards against de Ridder after three rounds.

As Sang and Ataides approach their pivotal matchup, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

36: Years of age for Sang, who was born on May 21, 1985 in Myitkyina, Myanmar.

24: Sang wins by knockout, technical knockout or submission, accounting for 92% of his career total (26). His list of victims includes Brandon Vera, Ken Hasegawa (twice) and Chris Price. Sang owns two other wins by decision.

6: Sub-minute stoppage victories on the Sang resume. However, only one of them has taken place inside One Championship. Sang cut down Alexandre Machado with a head kick and follow-up punches 56 seconds into their “Quest for Gold” pairing in February 2018, as he claimed the organization’s light heavyweight title.

2,379: Days spent by Sang as a One Championship titleholder. He held the promotion’s middleweight crown from June 30, 2017 to Oct. 30, 2020 and its light heavyweight championship from Feb. 23, 2018 to April 28, 2021.

.766: Cumulative winning percentage between the 11 men—de Ridder (twice), Vitaly Bigdash, Jonavin Webb, Sam Oropeza, Drew Puzon, Uriah Hall, Costas Philippou, James Lee, Julio Paulino, Jim Martens and Emerson Rushing—who have defeated Sang. They sport a combined record of 128-39.

34: Years of age for Ataides, who was born in Rio de Janeiro on Sept. 4, 1986.

8: Ataides victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission, accounting for 73% of his career total (11). His list of victims includes the aforementioned Bigdash, Mohamed Ali and Tatsuya Mizuno. Ataides holds three other victories by decision.

17: Seconds needed by Igor Svirid to punch out Ataides, as he captured the inaugural One Championship middleweight title at “Battle of Lions” on Nov. 7, 2014. It was the first loss of the Brazilian’s career.

1,175: Days since Ataides last recorded a win—a technical knockout of Bigdash at One Championship “Grit and Glory” in May 2018.

.750: Cumulative winning percentage between the four men—de Ridder, Svirid, Marcin Prachnio and Aleksei Butorin—who have defeated Ataides. They hold a combined record of 57-19.
