UFC 168 Earns Second Largest Live Gate in Nevada MMA History at $6.2 Million

UFC 168 earned a live gate of slightly more than $6.2 million on Dec. 28, making it the second largest gate ever for a Nevada-based mixed martial arts event.

The Nevada Athletic Commission released the gate figures on Monday. UFC 168 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and was headlined by a middleweight title rematch between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman. The card also featured a women’s bantamweight title clash between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate.

UFC 148, which took place on July 7, 2012 and featured the second meeting between Silva and Chael Sonnen, remains the top gate at $6.9 million. UFC 167, which took place on Nov. 16 and saw Georges St. Pierre outpoint Johny Hendricks in the main event, is third at $5.7 million.

UFC 168 was attended by a total of 14,574 spectators, with 1,076 of those in attendance receiving complimentary tickets.
