Who You Got? Sherdog Staff Pick 'Em: UFC 238

Welcome back to Sherdog's Staff Pick 'Em League, where we will attempt to pick up the pieces after a disastrous showing in Stockholm last week. The league as a whole scored a miserable 31 percent on UFC Fight Night 153, our worst collective performance of the season so far. However, that did not prevent our resident maverick mystic, Ed Carbajal, from picking up his third Super Cojones Award of the year -- Ed was the only one of us to pick Christos Giagos to defeat Damir Hazdovic. (For those keeping track at home, the rest of the league combined has two Super Cojones awards.)

This weekend in Chicago, there are some very lopsided picks, as the Tai Tuivasa-Blagoy Ivanov main card opener is the only one that's even close. Sherdog contributor and noted fighter whisperer Jason Burgos is daring to be great, as he is the only one picking Jimmie Rivera to beat the fast-rising Petr Yan. Whether that is a case of Burgos seeing something the rest of us are missing, or simply misplaced Tri-state area loyalty, remains to be seen.

Valentina Shevchenko is the unanimous pick to retain her flyweight title Saturday night. Of 118 total fights picked so far this year, "Bullet" is the 10th to receive 100 percent of the picks. Of the previous nine, eight won, with Vitaly Minakov's upset at the hands of Cheick Kongo the lone exception. If Jessica Eye shocks the world, check out this space next week to see 24 plates of crow being served up.

Finally, it's worth noting that Sherdog contributor Patrick Auger is in Chicago this weekend, covering UFC 238 in person. We will see if being face to face with the combatants and looking into their very souls gives him any additional insight into picking the fights... but we aren't counting on it.

Without further ado, here are the Sherdog staff picks for UFC 238: Cejudo vs. Moraes.
