By the Numbers: UFC Fight Night Monterrey

Neil Magny has racked up plenty of victories in the Octagon over the past two years, but perhaps none were more impressive than his win in Mexico on Saturday night.

The Grudge Training Center product started quickly, then held off a surging Kelvin Gastelum down the stretch to garner a split-decision victory in the UFC Fight Night “Magny vs. Gastelum” headliner. Magny, who took the bout on approximately two weeks’ notice following a Matt Brown injury, outstruck and outgrappled “The Ultimate Fighter 17” winner for the better part of three rounds and appeared to be cruising to victory before Gastelum rallied with a furious fourth-round blitz. Even with a strong fifth round, it was a case of too little, too late for the Kings MMA product.

Here is a by-the-numbers look at UFC Fight Night “Magny vs. Gastelum,” with statistics courtesy of FightMetric.com.
