Barboza knocked out Dariush with an exquisitely timed and executed knee strike in the second round of their crackling lightweight showcase at the Olympic Training Center. An unconscious Dariush hit the deck 3:35 into Round 2. Barboza withstood significant difficulty. Dariush marched forward with relentless pressure and backed up the Brazilian with overhand lefts and withering kicks to the legs and body. It was not enough, as all his good work went out the window in a split second. Barboza countered a level change with a devastating jumping knee that flipped the Kings MMA standout’s switch and electrified the crowd.
