Preview: PFL Europe 2024 Finals
Wisniewska vs. Scatizzi
PFL Europe Women’s Flyweight Final
Paulina Wisniewska (4-0, 2-0 PFL) vs. Valentina Scatizzi (3-3, 2-2 PFL) SBG Ireland’s Scatizzi scrapped her way into last season’s flyweight final before she was blown out of the water by rising superstar and current PFL women’s flyweight champion Dakota Ditcheva. Unfortunately for the Italian, she could enter another unfavorable matchup against Poland’s Wisniewska. Although she turned pro last year, Wisniewska has been competing in MMA since 2018. She has a sharp striking and looked impressive with a second-round TKO win over Dee Begley in June. Wisniewska earned her shot at the PFL Europe title with a unanimous decision win over Karolina Wojcik. In that fight, she showed excellent use of the clinch and shut down her more experienced countrywoman’s grappling with ease.Scatizzi has the opportunity of a lifetime in this fight. She lost to rising British star Shanelle Dyer in the semifinals via split decision. Dyer was all set to fight Wisniewska for the title before a leg infection forced her to pull out weeks before the fight. Scatizzi answered the call and could claim the title if she can drag Wisniewska into deep waters and stay on her. That’s not likely to happen. Wisniewska is too sharp and poised, and she will control the fight on her way to a unanimous decision.
